Frank Turner is playing in Cork

The British singer/songwriter will play at Cyprus Avenue on December 6th.

Frank Turner’s music style ranges from folk to rock with influences of punk. His fourth album called “England Keep my Bones” was released in 2011.

He has been on tour with The Gaslight Anthem in the US. Turner will play as a supporting act for  The Pogues this year and for the Dropkick Murphys next year. Some of his gigs in England are already sold out.

It will be interesting to see how he manages to build up atmosphere in such a tinny venue in Cork, as he already played on massive stages such as Leeds & Reading festival.

Here is my favourite song Frank  Turner, I hope you will enjoy it!

US band No Doubt are returning with a new record called “Push And Shove” on September 25th, after 11 years.

Tony Kanal, who is playing bass, spoke to The Kevin &Bean Show on August 21st and told him why it took so long to finally release a new album.

“So much happened in between [...]  the last record and this record. We started families. We have eight kids between us now,” he said. The band didn’t want to miss out on family, so they took their time for this record. However, the band is happy to finally have a date  for the album. “It is a typical No Doubt record, it’s all over the place,” said Tony. There are reggae, dance music and alternative rock elements on the record, he added.

The first song from the album which was released is called “Settle Down”. “It is like picking your favourite child,” Tony described the process of which song will make it for the first single release. The video of “Settle Down” itself looks like a reunion: All four are driving their own vehicles and finally the meet each other to start a big party. The song is a late summer song with a distinctive style of No Doubt.  It has dance and reggae elements in it and airy tunes. While watching the video, you still see the crazy style of the band and the power they have always spread. When the album is released, we will see how much rock is still in their blood and if the break has  created new strength for their creativity.

The UK band are currently working on their début album, I have looked at their work so far. If you want to read my review click here.
